Calculating average fte ytd

Employee has 1,0 fte contract, when selecting 8 monthss it returns 8,0 fte, I need to show the average ytd  (8 fte/8 months=1), so I created formula (extra column) with formula [fte]/[monthnumber] but it returns wrong value.

Do I need to look for solution in data (monthnumber) or formula?

I created a report showingin one employee who is 1 fte, when I select 8 months in the filter it shows 8 fte.

I created an extra column, 'average fte', with the expression [fte]/[monthnumber], I was expecting it would show 8 fte divided by MontNumber 8 = 1 fte but is does not, it returns 2.7
