Hello all,
Through a previous post, I have created in my Power BI model a calculate column as such:
newColumn =
var id_ = 'table'[MainId]
return CALCULATE(countrows(distinct('table'[MainID])),FILTER('table','table'[RelatedId] = id_))
Now I'm wondering why removing FILTER (using the included filter in CALCULATE) doesn't work:
newColumn =
var id_ = 'table'[MainId]
return CALCULATE(countrows(distinct('table'[MainID])),'table','table'[RelatedId] = id_)
End the reason I'm asking is because I need to filter on several variables now. Such as:
newColumn =
var id_ = 'table'[MainId]
var iter_ = 'table'[IterationPath]
return CALCULATE(countrows(distinct('table'[MainID])),FILTER('table','table'[RelatedId] = id_),FILTER('table','table'[ParentIteration] = iter_))
But this doesn't work.
How can 2 filters be combined?
I tried FILTER('table','table'[RelatedId] = id_)&&'table'[ParentIteration] = iter_) but unsuccessfully.
Opened to all the help you can offer,
Thanks,
Doris

Hi @DorisCMoore ,
Please try this :
newColumn =
var id_ = 'table'[MainId]
var iter_ = 'table'[IterationPath]
return CALCULATE(countrows(distinct('table'[MainID])),FILTER('table','table'[RelatedId] = id_ && 'table'[ParentIteration] = iter_))
If the above one can't help you get the desired result, please provide some sample data in your tables (exclude sensitive data) with Text format and your expected result with backend logic and special examples. It is better if you can share a simplified pbix file. Thank you.
Best Regards,
Neeko Tang
