Calculate measure by filtering one table with another filtered table

I have three tables, one is a calendar table with dates and a monthID, one is a list of divisions and their creation dates, another is all of the sales for each division and dates of the sale. I want a measure that, when put on a line graph with monthID on the axis, shows the number of branches created in the last 6 months that have also made a sale within the last 6 months? I'm struggling to filter the measure in the list of divisions table based on the sales data. Any help would be appreciated
