Hello - I am attempting to use a calculation group items within a table visual. However, when inserting the calculation group - the table seems to be converted to multiple rows for each calculation item (dollars, quantity, $/Quantity).
When I convert the above table to a matrix - my calculation table items are now columns. But requires drill down.
I like the way calculation groups prevent (hide) the display of certain measures (columns) if no data is available. Using traditional measures - there is a column displayed, whether or not data is available.
1) Can we use calculation groups within tables - and force as columns?
2) Is there a way to format matrix visual to look like a table (no drilldown bottons and "rows filled in from above", like we have in excel pivot tables?
thank you!

@Dellis81 , Calculation groups convert measure names into dimensions, you can check if field parameters can help

Thank you for your response. Yes, I understand calculation groups are treated as dimensions, but surprised in a table visual, those dimensions converted to rows vs columns. For a work around, was able to use a step - layout as off within a matrix and got close to what I was hoping for. The downside - my user's are expecting a table experience, but as you know the stepped layout matrix is formatted slightly different. I find change is hard for those not wanting change...
I did a little review of your referenced blogs, and intrigued by your profit/loss financials with blank rows. I hope to work on those concepts next few days. Thank you 🙂
