Show page navigator in another report among the same app?

I have 2 Power BI reports: daily one with 9 pages and hourly one with 1 page.  The daily report has page navigator for easy navigation.  Both reports are included in an app with daily report on top.  Somehow, it's difficult to navigator the last hourly report, especially for mobile users.  Is it possible to create page navigator in hourly report and show it in daily report?

In addition, what's the best way to let mobile users exit navigation to go back to Home?

Thanks.

Hi @bergen288 ,

Yes, it is possible to create a page navigator in the hourly report and show it in the daily report. Here's one way you can do it:

  • In the hourly report, create a new page that will serve as the page navigator. You can do this by going to the Insert tab in the ribbon and clicking on the Page button.
  • On this page, create a list of all the pages in the hourly report, along with links to each of those pages. You can do this by inserting a list visual and then creating a measure or calculated column that generates the page names and links.
  • In the daily report, insert the hourly report as a report page. To do this, go to the Insert tab in the ribbon and click on the Report button. Select the hourly report from the list of available reports.
  • On the daily report, add a page navigation button that links to the page navigator page in the hourly report. You can do this by going to the Insert tab in the ribbon and clicking on the Button button. Set the action of the button to "Go to a report page" and select the page navigator page in the hourly report as the destination.

To let mobile users exit navigation and go back to the home page, you can add a home button to the daily report that links to the home page. You can do this by following the same steps as above, but selecting the home page as the destination for the button. Alternatively, you could use a back button that takes the user back to the previous page they were on.

If the problem is still not resolved, please provide detailed error information and let me know immediately. Looking forward to your reply.

Best Regards,
Henry

Hi Henry:

I am pretty new to Power BI so bear with me for my stupid questions.  My plan is to add a page as Page Navigator in Daily report as shown below.  All other pages will have a button to go back this page.

My hourly report has 1 page only.  Do I still have to create a list of all pages?

I don't see Report button in Insert page at the ribbon area?

It is a bookmark icon in my planned Home button.  How do I add Home link (Power BI) to it?

Hourly Updates button is to be added for the page in hourly report.  How to do it?

How to add this new "Page Navigator" in all other pages (including in Hourly report)?

Thanks.

Henry:

I kind of figured out how to do it, but have an outstanding issue with it.  In screenshot below, the Action Type of "Power BI Home" icon is Web URL and its URL is "https://app.powerbi.com/home".  After it is published to Power BI Web Service site and the app is updated, click the icon will open a new Power BI Home page with my PC browser.  However,  touch the icon in Power BI mobile app on my iPhone 11 doesn't work as expected.  The mobile app spins a few times, but nothing is changed.   Are you aware of the issue and how to fix it?

Thanks.

I am asking this question in "Mobile Apps" section as the issue is related with Power BI mobile apps.
