COUNTA function in PowerBI on a range of columns

Hi,

I want to make a column in powerBI which counts the cells which are not blank in a range how columns (A, B, C, D)

In excel I would do =COUNTA( A : D )

But how can I make this count in powerbi on a range and not only a single column?

Thanks

Kristoffer

Hi @Kristofferaabo,

You need to use as many counta as necessary in your single measure:

Measure = Counta(Table[Col1]) + Counta(Table[Col2]) + Counta(Table[Col3]) +Counta(Table[Col4])

Or, it is better if you can first unpivot your data using the Query Editor in Power BI Desktop.

Perhaps:

= COUNTA([A]) + COUNTA([B]) + COUNTA([C]) + COUNTA([D])
