I would like to create a button like a left arrow that allows you to move from one previous month to another with several clicks. I would like the user to be able to click on an arrow pointing to the left and see the previous month displayed. If they click on the same button again, the following month should be displayed. This will allow them to swipe between months in the same year without displaying a segment.

Hi @Bouah

Power BI doesn't have this functionality. You can use bookmarks but you're essentially going to create a pair for each month selection - one for the next and another for the previous month - so if you have 12 months that would mean 24 bookmarks.

Hi, I hope my answer can help you.

Below is a simple, reliable way to let users “swipe” month-by-month using left/right arrow buttons in Power BI (works without a visible slicer). It uses a month slicer + bookmarks + multiple button copies so a single click moves to the previous/next month and repeated clicks continue to move month-by-month.

Concept (short)

  1. Create a single-select Month slicer (MonthYear or MonthNumber+Year).
  2. Build one bookmark per month (captures that slicer selection + which buttons are visible).
  3. Create multiple copies of the left/right arrow buttons — each copy is set to navigate to a specific bookmark (e.g., the “Left button for March” links to the February bookmark).
  4. Use bookmark visibility: in each month-bookmark show only the two arrow-button copies appropriate for that month.
  5. Hide the slicer if you want a clean UI; users click the arrows to move across months.

This works well for one year or for each year separately (12 bookmarks per year). It’s manual to set up, but very responsive in the report (no refresh needed).

If you found this post helpful, please consider accepting it as the solution so that other members can find it more easily.

So far I don't think we have the default functoin for this

you can set to single select to avoid user to select more than one month
