Hello,
we would like to build a "generic" PowerBI Report Set + Data Model that we can easily match to a new customer environment.
In our case we've built a couple of reports with a lot of powerquery tables in the background to analyse ERP + Ticketing Data. There are plenty of customers with the same demand and we would like to "recycle" our work in their environments.
The problem is: When i copy the whole powerquery XML code, i loose all of the relationships i made. When i copy the whole pbix file i have to manually adjust the environment specific variables in the powerqueries (DB name, hostname, etc.).
Is there a way to build a "generic" report/ app where i can work with variables which can be filled when creating a new version?
Hi @cavok
I think Power BI template will be complex to your needs,
With Power BI Desktop templates, you can keep your report structure. It doesn’t include any data from your source systems.
For more information about Power BI Desktop templates, see

What is the difference between .pbix and .pbit ?
