Bookmarks not preserving filters (even with "data"...

There are a number of posts on this topic from 3-5 years ago where the bookmark click-thru does not preserve filters. See eg:

In every case that was solved by unchecking "Data" on the bookmark.

This does not resolve my problem. Is this a known issue? Or am I doing something wrong still?
