Hi,
With bookmarks you can use the "selected visuals" feature to only allow the bookmark to interact with certain things.
I have an issue where i want my bookmark to interact with "visuals" for some of the things, but both "data" + "visuals" for other things, at the same time.
I'm basically having a pop-out filter panel, that i want to keep in the state it was closed in, however it doesn't seem possible at the moment 😞
Is there a way for a bookmark to interact with data on some of the visuals, and with visuals on others?
Or is there another clever workaround utilizing multiple bookmarks or so.
Hi @AlexaderMilland, unfortunately it's not possible, I've been struggling with the same issue couple of weeks ago! At the end, I had to split it in multiple pop-up windows using separate bookmarks.
If you provide more context on your case, we might try to help you to find some workaround, but native behavior of bookmarks doesn't allow to achieve it.
Here is my "pop-out" filter panel:
Basically i can't get it to stay on the page they left from - it would always default to some set of the filter group, say date or product etc, which means it's no longer synced with the chosen group from the bookmark selecter on the right.
Same issue on the buttom for selecting whether to instantly apply filters or having to use the "apply all" first.
Please describe desired result step by step: what filter do you want to apply? What button you need to press? What should happen when you press a button? Where exactly you have a case when bookmark should behave differently and how do you want it to behave?
Here is a sample file:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/17gN042ObH_bgCfmgwPKiJLLjZrkCmbRZ/view?usp=drive_link
Issue is the following:
If you close the filter panel while you are looking at the "Location" slicers.
When you re-open the filter panel it's no longer the "Location" Slicers that are showing, but it still shows the header at the top that you are on locations - but the slicers themselves have resetted to be for "Product".
Same issue with the SlicerState at the buttom, if you close it on the lighting icon, the "apply all" button is not present. However once you reopen the filter panel the apply all button will show again, but the lighting icon is still selected.
So either
1) Ideally it would reopen EXACTLY how you closed it down
2) If it's gonna reset the visuals to the default (e.g. apply all button showing and product slicers showing), so should the bookmark navigators aswell, e.g. the headers of the slicers and the lighting vs timeglass icon.
Either solution should not impact any filters you have already selected, e.g. data can't updated for the slicers. Hence i want data to only update for the bookmark navigators for solution 2.
