Between Slicer Hide Unhide

Hello,

I have created 3 slicers, one with style as "Vertical List" (which has 2 values as single select) and the other 2 slicers style as "Between".

What I am trying to achieve here is based on one of the two values selected in the "Vertical List" slicer, I want to show/hide one of the two "Between" slicer. Is there a way we can achieve that?

Visual :

So lets say in the above image, if I choose "Daily" (from Single select Slicer) then only Daily slicer (Between slicer with slider) on the right should be active/visible and if I select "Weekly"  (from Single select Slicer) then only Weekly slicer (Between slicer with slider) on the right should be active/visible.

Measures :

DailyMeasure = INT(SELECTEDVALUE(Sheet1[Selection]) = "Daily")

WeeklyMeasure = INT(SELECTEDVALUE(Sheet1[Selection]) = "Weekly")

Applying these two measures (is 1) to the respective sliders (between slicer) does not work. However, If I change from Between slicer to dropdown slicer from slicer settings then it works. Is there something that can apply to between slicer?

If the approach is not correct, I am open to suggestions to achieve the same.

Unfortunately, Power BI does not support dynamic show/hide of visuals (like slicers) based on slicer values directly. But there is a well-known workaround using bookmarks. However, if your slicer is configured as a Vertical List (single select), you can use the method below:

Step-by-Step Solution Using Measures and Visual Filters

1.Create a static slicer table (either with "Enter Data" or DAX):

SlicerTable = DATATABLE("Slicers", STRING, {{"CUSTOMERS"}, {"PRODUCT"}})

//Add this table as a Vertical List slicer and enable Single Select.

2. Create DAX Measures for Conditional Visibility and Titles

These measures control which slicer appears and what title is shown:

Customer =
IF(SELECTEDVALUE(SlicerTable[Slicers]) = "CUSTOMERS", 1, 0)

CustomerTitle =
IF(SELECTEDVALUE(SlicerTable[Slicers]) = "CUSTOMERS", "CONTINENT", "")

Fore second slicer:

Product =
IF(SELECTEDVALUE(SlicerTable[Slicers]) = "PRODUCT", 1, 0)

Product Slicer Title:

BrandTitle =
IF(SELECTEDVALUE(SlicerTable[Slicers]) = "PRODUCT", "BRAND", "")

3. Apply Visual-Level Filters to Show/Hide Slicers

For the Customer slicer visual:

Add the Customer measure to the Filters on this visual and then set the filter condition to: is 1

For the Product slicer visual:

Add the Product measure to the Filters on this visual and set the filter condition to: is 1

4. Set Dynamic Titles as below:

• Select the Customer slicer visual → Format → Title → Turn on → Click fx
• Use CustomerTitle as the dynamic title
• Do the same for the Product slicer, using BrandTitle.

1. When writing your post or reply, you can see the "Drag or Drop here" option in the bottom as below.

     2.  Click browse, select and attach your sample Power BI file.

• Make sure to remove any sensitive or personal data before uploading.

           If you are unable to upload the file, you can upload the file to a cloud service (like OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox) and share a viewable link instead.

Hello, a quickk update: If I select a dropdown slicer or vertical list slicer than this works

DailyMeasure = INT(SELECTEDVALUE(Sheet1[Selection]) = "Daily")

WeeklyMeasure = INT(SELECTEDVALUE(Sheet1[Selection]) = "Weekly")

The above to measures are applied as necessary. If I select "Daily" from a single select vertical list slicer, it hides the values from Weekly slicer (dropdown or vertical list)... But it does not work with "Between" slicer

Yes,Visual-level filters work with slicers in Dropdown or List mode, but for "Between" slicers, Power BI does not support filtering visibility using DAX measures. There is no official workaround that toggles visibility of a Between type slicer using another slicer.

Hi @TheColdVolcano 

In Power BI, when a slicer is set to Single Select (like your "Vertical List"), its selected value can only be changed manually by the user. There is no supported way to change that selection dynamically based on another slicer or visual.

This also means you can't show or hide another slicer based on the selection made in a single-select slicer. Power BI doesn’t support dynamically altering the visibility or filter state of one slicer based on another slicer's value.

If you're trying to create a guided user flow or simulate dynamic behavior, the closest workaround would be using buttons with bookmarks to switch between views — but this requires manual setup and isn't truly dynamic.
