Best way to work with a field that has multiple categories?

The xml files consist of 3 main fields: Client ID, Description and Value.  The Descrption field contains 150 different categories that I am trying to analyze by value.  Some of the Descrption categories include Income, Expense, Contributions... for which I'm trying to show the value by Client ID sorted from large to small or in a pie chart.  What is the best way to do these 3 independent visulaizations on 1 page.  I've tried creating 3 charts by applying filters to Description but when I click on 1 chart, the others change.  I know this can't be that hard but I think I just have excel pivot table on my mind.  Thanks for the help.

Hi @BDB,

It seems that you want to analyze the Description field with mutiple categories?

Could you share some data sample which could reproduce your scenario. Maybe we could change the data model in Query Editor first then create the visual.

I would appreciate it if you also could show your desired output.

Best Regards,

Cherry
