Best practice linked tables/merge

I have 2 tables.  Table 1 has all my order details: unique key = order number.  Table 2 only 2 additional fields: unique key = order number:

What is best for refresh speed and response speed for user:

1. Load both tables and link 1:1
2. Merge 2 fields from table 1 into table 2 in the transformation?

@Anonymous , merge only when they if there some common dimension present in 1 and some in 2 and combining then will get access to all these dimensions together.

Sorry but I do not really understand your answer.  I can do either approach - they both come to the same thing,  I am trying to establish which way is most efficient.
