Bar/column width for when only using one date's worth of values

Hi, I have a bar chart which is filtered to this week's values but in order to make it look how I want, I have to stretch out the design which then requires a lot of space on my dashboard and doesn't look great, especially as my target line goes the whole length of the box... Is there a way around this please? Any help appreciated!

Hi @freginier I had a play with these settings but they didn't solve my problem...I've changed it to a stacked bar chart and it looks much better so I'm going to stick with that instead. Thank you anyway 😊

@samc_26 ,
Create a calculated measure with formula "Target + 0.1". Set this new measure as the X-Axis Max. This will solve the concern of Target going to whole length.

Hi @Anand24 I'm not sure what you meant with this, my target line was using a Constant Line rather than a set value but I've changed the chart to a stacked bar chart and it looks much better, the target is now a red section where the value is shy of the target but thank you anyway, I'm sure your advice will help someone else who reads this 👍

Hey there!

There are a few possible solutions to your problem.

Reduce Bar Width Manually

- In Power BI, go to the Format pane (Paint Roller icon).

- Under Bars, adjust the Inner Padding or Bar Width.

- Increase the inner padding to make the bars thinner.

Add Dummy Data for More Dates

- Power BI automatically adjusts bar width based on the number of data points.

- To avoid oversized bars, create a dummy dataset with additional dates, ensuring at least 2 or more data points per week

Hope this helps!
