Azure SQL Database Refresh

Hello Experts,

I have my source as Azure SQL DB and I have imported data into Power BI engine. Then I created a report and published it to server.

I am very confused wih gateway concept as I have read we do not need gateway when we have Azure as a source. But my reports are never refreshed. Do I need to install gateway? If yes, Why we need to do this as we have data source on cloud?

Can someone help me to clear my query.

Thanks in Advance..!!

Hi

No need to install the gateway if your using AZURE SQL Server DB.

All you have to do is go to setting select the Datasets option there you can configure the refesh frequency.

Regards,

Bajee.

Thank you @bajee for quick reply.

I configured by going to Setting --> Gateway Connection --> Connect Directly option.

Then configuring credentials and schedule refresh.

Correct me if I am wrong.

Thank You

Yes your correct, you can configure the same way. Don't forget to set credentials and refresh time frequency.

Thank you @bajee..!!
