Hi,
I can see the Azure Map object available in my Visualizations pane in Power BI desktop. However, when I clicked on it, I got an error: Azure Maps visuals are not enabled for your organization. Contact your tenant admin to fix this. So here is what I have checked:
1, In Admin Portal>under Intergration settings, both Use ArcGIS Maps for Power BI and Map and filled map visuals have been enabled.
2, In Power BI desktop, Options and Settings>under Preview Features, Azure map is not available in the list. Under Security, Use Map and Filled Map visuals is checked.
My desktop version is April 2025. Can you help me understand what might be the reason why I can't use the Azure map visual?
Thanks!

@ELIU,
Yes, being on a GCC (Government Community Cloud) tenant absolutely makes a difference.
Azure Maps visual is not supported in Power BI for national cloud tenants, including GCC, GCC High, and DoD.

Hi @ELIU,
Can you try below encountering steps
Step 1: Go to Power BI Admin Portal
Navigate to: https://app.powerbi.com/admin-portal
(You must be a Power BI Service Administrator or Microsoft 365 Global Administrator)
Step 2: Enable Azure Maps Visual
Go to Tenant Settings
Search for "Azure Maps Visual"
Enable: “Use Azure Maps visual”
Apply to:
The entire organization (recommended), or
Specific security groups, if needed
Step 3: Save Changes
Once enabled, it may take some time for the change to propagate.
After Admin Enables Azure Maps
Restart Power BI Desktop
Ensure you're logged into Power BI with your organizational account
Try inserting the Azure Maps visual again
Thanks,

Thank you for the detailed instruction. What I have forgotten to mention in my original post is: the Azure Maps visual is Not an option listed in our Tenant Settings. We are on GCC (government tenant). Does it make a difference?
