Hi
I come accross a relatively large enterprise reporting environment which most of reports are using Azure Analysis Services (AAS).
After few years of development, there is requirement to cleanup un-used measures or fields from AAS.
My question is, how I can find out which measure is used where?
Or, how we can list all used measures and fields used in a Power BI report?
Also, in some reports, there are measures that has not pushed to AAS, so we have 2 places to look at which is making it harder to maintain.
If I can extract all measures and fields from one report, is there a way to underestand which one is sources by AAS?
I already know that one way would be comparing list of measures with AAS but I am after a standard tool if there is any available...
Many thanks
Ali
Thanks for your answers. This resolution is definitly working where you have one report.
I am more after a solution for 20+ reports all together.
I wonder if there is a way to analyse all reports together?
One of the solutions that I was think of , is using Azure Log Analytics to analyse queries and identify columns /measures that has been used in AAS. But still not sure if this is the best way?!
Main reason for that is , the environment that I am working is very dynamic and I need to check and balance almost after each release that we have e.g. fortnightly.
Many thanks,
Ali
Hi, @AliHesami
Analyze multiple reports together? I am not sure if there is such a way.
If the solution you mentioned above works, use it until something better is available

Hi, @AliHesami
You can refer to my responses below these two threads regarding extraction measures.
dax studio to get only the name of all the measures used on each visual on each page of a pbix
Unused measures affecting performance
Extract a list of measures, tables, etc, from your Power BI model with DAX Studio:
