Average count rows per attribute (column)

Hi community

I have one question with my dataset, I need to calculate the average of rows (each row represents a task) that a team member has per week, for example:

Lisa's tasks

Week     Tasks (count of rows)     

1                      5                                

2                      8                                   

3                     11                                  

Total               24 tasks in 3 weeks = 8 tasks in Avg per week

I'd like to visual a table with each team member in one column and the avg tasks per week in values

I don't know how to get this done, so I appreciate your help, thanks!

Hello @algoritmia_pbi,

You can use DAX to calculate the average number of tasks per week for each team member in a separate column of your dataset. Here's how you can do it:

1. Create a calculated column in your dataset by clicking on "New Column" in the "Modeling" tab of the Power BI Desktop ribbon. Name the column "Tasks per Week" or something similar.

2. Use the following DAX formula to calculate the average number of tasks per week for each team member:

   Tasks per Week = DIVIDE([Tasks], [Weeks])

   This formula divides the total number of tasks for each team member by the number of weeks they've been working.

3. Add a table visualization to your report and drag the team member column and the "Tasks per Week" column onto it.

4. You should now see a table with each team member in one column and their average number of tasks per week in another column.
