Auto formating - prevent language change (K to Tsd in German etc..)

All,

I have the following challenge:

  • The dashboard will be deployed to many locations
  • I am using autoformating for some numbers in a Matrix
  • This works very well with English (K for thousands, M for millions etc.)
  • But messes up format in German (TSD) or Danish (tusinnd) etc.

Is there any way to force it to always display English abbreviation (so K, M etc.) and not adjust to user locale ?

Thanks in advance for your help!
    Marcin

Hi. I think I have never try this but there might be a solution. You can try chaging this option in dataset settings in power bi service.language settingslanguage settings

By default it is in default language, try chaging it to another language.

Is there any way to force English on users without the need to change the setting?

I don't think this change is for each user to click. This should change it for a dataset, so every user that checks the report involving the dataset should see the change.

I'm not sure if there is another place to change language.

You are absolutely right - its enough to change it on my side. Thanks a lot.

Question --> Now it seems to work on Desktop (chrome) but not on Ipad....

Any idea if there is anything the user needs to do on the Ipad?

Thanks in advance for any help/

I'm sorry, I have no idea why is that 😞

Thanks a lot. This will resolve the issue but will require the change to happen on user side.
