AttributeHierarchy Error

Hi All,

I have a dataset which was working yesterday, but I've refresehed it this morning and 5 calculated columns are now returning errors. 4 of them give the error "This expression refers to a AttributeHierarchy object named *ColumnName*, which has an error". The other calculated column returns the "multiple values where single value expected error". All 5 calculated columns refer to *ColumnName* which is the primary key/column of the same table. 

There have been no changes to the dataset, the only thing that has happened is that the data has been refreshed. There are no errors or duplicates in *ColumnName* and all the data is in the right format etc, so I'm not sure why Power BI is saying it has an error.

Could anyone advise what might be causing this error?

1. Check Data Source:

   • Make sure that there are no issues with the data source itself. Refresh the data again to ensure that there are no connectivity issues or changes in the source data that could be causing the problem.

2. Review Calculated Columns:

   • Review the DAX expressions for the calculated columns that are returning errors. Check for any syntax errors, incorrect references, or unsupported operations.
   • Verify that the calculated columns are referencing ColumnName correctly and that there are no typos or inconsistencies in the column references.

3. Check Data Model:

   • Check the data model to ensure that the relationships between tables are correctly defined and that there are no circular references or ambiguous relationships.
   • Verify that the data type of ColumnName is consistent across all related tables and that it matches the expected data type in the calculated columns.

4. Refresh Metadata:

   • Sometimes, refreshing the metadata of the data model can resolve issues with calculated columns. Go to the "Modeling" tab in Power BI Desktop and click on "Refresh" to update the metadata.

5. Clear Cache:

   • Clear the cache in Power BI Desktop by going to "File" > "Options and settings" > "Options" > "Data Load" and clicking on "Clear Cache". This can sometimes resolve caching issues that may be causing errors.
