Hi all!
I have a sales report that contains data for 10 weeks and that has this structure:
Date | Week | Value
Now I would like to use the week number as the header in a table visual.
I know, this is possible using pivot / matrix visual. But is it possible to have the same functionallity using a table visual?
Date as the row, week as the column and the value as the value.
Hi @joshua1990
Can you provide an example of how you would like the data displayed, and why it has to be a table visual please?
The way you've described it, the matrix visual should be all you need.
Hi @joshua1990
In a standard table visual, there is no concept of “row vs column vs value” — each field is simply displayed as a column in the order it’s added. It doesn’t support pivot-like layouts.
However, what you're describing — Date as row, Week as column header, and Value in the cells — is exactly what the Matrix visual is designed for. The Matrix provides a pivot-style layout where you can define rows, columns, and values.
So if your goal is to display data in that structure, the Matrix visual is the right choice.
Like in my example of months that can be weeks in your case
If there’s a specific reason the Matrix doesn’t work for you, feel free to share a sample or mockup, and clarify what limitation you're encountering — we might be able to suggest an alternative workaround.
