I have a Power BI report which source is dataflow. Dataflow capacity is >1TB as for now. Every time I've made some changes, Power BI Desktop "Applying query changes". It takes very long time to apply, due to big capacity of dataflow. Is it possible to publish report without "applying query changes" to workspace? I tried to cancel it and publish, but no chance. Report doesn't changes at all. As far as I know, query changes could be applied on the "Datasets" tab in the workspace by clicking "Refresh" button. Any ideas?
Hi @Anonymous ,
Is this problem solved?
Best Regards,
Icey
Can you kindly explain, how to apply query changes in dataflow?
Should i refresh dataset, which is connected to dataflow?
@Anonymous You can do almost all functions (available in Edit Query) in dataflow as well. Use dataflow for data cleansing and transformation. Then save and refresh it. You can also schedule the dataflow refresh. In case you need incremental data refresh, you have to assign a premium capacity for the workspace.
Connect your dataflow from Power BI desktop and do the visualization and calculations (DAX) in desktop tool and publish the reports into the workspace. After that, if you change the schema in dataflow, you may need to edit the pbix file and fix the issue. Otherwise, Power BI reports will work smoothly.
