I have two metric tables with all of the same columns, I appended them and created a new table (Append1)- I assume that I if I were to add new records to my metrics table, the appended table (Append1) will not refresh with the new records, right? I would have to append the two metric tables in the query to see new updated/refreshed data?
HI @mehlenbae2 ,
The Append 1 table which is derived by appending your 2 metrics table, will refresh when any of these metrics tabls are refreshed with new data.
I am assuming you are appending these metrics table in Power Query Editor in Power BI desktop.
Give more details, if you still have questions regarding this.
Yes, I am using PowerBI Desktop. So if I append a new table (appeneded tables Metric1 & Metric2 Table) - the data will include records that I add to the Metric 1 and Metric 2 tables?
Keep in mind I appended both tables AS NEW Table (Append1).. I was wondering if that makes a difference and wont upload new records if refreshed as it is now its OWN table. Hope that makes sense.
HI @mehlenbae2 ,
In both the cases your new appended table will have refreshed data from other tbales that are used to create this appended table.
You can even test it easily.
Good to know. Thank you.
I read another form where someone said that was not the case.. Glad to hear it is.
