Analyze in Excel (only can connect to “My Workspace”)

For some reason I am only able to connect to “My Workspace” and not data in the other group workspaces that I created. This is really odd because (1) I used to be able to do this until I made new groups (2) I am the admin.

Anyone having this same issue?

Issue #1 has been resolved!!! Today there was a Power BI Publisher update that corrected the issue! 🙂

It looks like issue #2 has been fixed too! 🙂

Issue #3 still remain open however 😞

@dsutt519 Just tested this out and it did worked for me regardless of the group workspace. What do you mean by you're only able to connect to data in your workspace ? So you downloaded odc file from group workspace and it didn't work ? or it gave you error when authenticating ?

Ankit

Issue #1 (using Excel add in Power BI Publisher for Excel)

I’m unable to connect to any of the GROUP WORKSPACES that I created. I can only connect to My WorkSpace.

Issue #2 (Security for Group Workspaces using Analyze in Excel)

Security works great on dashboards/reports, but security does not work if Analyze in Excel is used.

Issue #3 (Security in Content Packs)

Security works great in Analyze in Excel/reports/dashboards, but security will stop working if a user makes a copy of the Data Set!!! There is no way to stop a user from making a copy of the data set when creating Content Packs!

Ankit these issues are blowing my mind! How can anyone actually use PBI on an enterprise level before these issues are resolved!!? Seems like there are lots of other non-security types of issues too with report formatting etc.!!
