Analyze in Excel - need to refresh?

Hi - if I'm using Analyze in Excel tied to a portal report is there ever a need to hit Refresh in Excel?

I'm asking to figure out if the data in Excel is always updated with what the portal has without any action from me.

Thanks in advance~

Hi  @Shure846 ,

Whether you have an Excel PivotTable or table connected to a Power BI semantic model, you can update data in your Excel workbook by either refreshing a specific object (PivotTable, Pivot Chart, or table), or by refreshing all objects connected to a specific Power BI semantic model.

Refer to:

hello @Shure846

i believe you need to refresh your excel regularly if you want the data updated.

you can use macro in excel though if you dont want to manually refresh.

Hope this will help.

Thank you.

Thanks - do you know if there is any MS documention on this?
