Hi,
Since I'm new to Power BI I would like to know the database connection way of custom endpoints. We are trying like adding custom endpoint for my amazon redshift endpoint (not the endpoint that is given by AWS).
Let's say
Default redshift endpoint url is - xxxxxxxx.redshift.amazonaws.com
Now what I'm trying is mapping the redshift endpoint url with my custom url which is created in route53
dw.mydomain.com - A record - xxxxxxxx.redshift.amazonaws.com
So when sample.redshift.com is hit it will connect the redshift endpoint. Now I'm trying to give the sample.redshift.com in the Power BI but it is not working which is asking for SSL certificate.
Also, I found turning off the encryption settings will work. But it should be enabled for my case.
Note: Also, I tried having the redshift behind my load balancer which is also not worked. The important thing is this flow worked on my database client (DBeaver).
Thanks
Is there a fix for this issue. I facing some issue in one of my cluster.
Hi,
Yes, I know this solution. By disabling the encryption settings allows the database sync. But the thing is I want the "Encryption Connection" should be enabled.
Also, my custom endpoint is SSL Enabled.
Still it is not working.
Hi @xembledev ,
By default, Power BI database connector establishes an encrypted connection (SSL). You will happen to receive an error if your server has not enabled SSL – “ [SQLState 08S01] Cannot enable SSL for the connection when connecting to a server that has not enabled SSL”
Here is the solution to resolve this issue:
