Hi everyone,
I have created a report using Power BI Desktop with the intent of publishing this report to the web for public access. I would like users to be able to copy, or preferably save, visuals from this report (similar to how Tableau allows you to download images). I have figured out how to allow users to copy an image/visual when working out of app.powerbi.com. However, when I publish this report to the web, users are no longer able to copy visuals. Is there a way around this?
Thanks in advance!
When you try to publish a report to the web, you have the ability to control the level of interactivity and access that the viewers have to the report. By default, when publishing to the web, the "Allow viewers to export data" option is turned off, which also disables the ability for viewers to copy or download visuals.
If you want to enable viewers to copy or download visuals when publishing a report to the web, you need to open the report in PBI Desktop > File > Publish to Web > Settings > Embed code" section > "Allow users to download visuals" option >"Apply"
Be careful it can be risky since the viewers will have the ability to download the data behind the visuals.
Hi
I am using a quite new version of Power Bi Desktop (2.137.952.0 64-bit), but I can't find the menu you are refering to at PBI Desktop > File > Publish to Web > Settings > Embed code" section > "Allow users to download visuals" option >"Apply". Going through the settings menu I can't find the option "Allow users to download visuals" anywhere. Has this functionality been removed or something?
