After updating the March PBI Desktop version I cannot open my older PBIX files. Any idea?

First, please ensure that you can connect to this Analysis Services database without any issues. You can try to connect it b by using Microsoft Excel.

Then, the latest Power BI version is:2.45.4704.442 64-bit (April 2017). In your scenario, which vercion of Power BI desktop were the older PBIX files created? Please provide us more detail information, so that we can try to produce this issue and make further analyais.

Hi v-caliao-msft,

I created the PBIX files with March update. The minute I updated desktop to April it stopped working with the error I mentioned above.

I was able to found an older version of desktop and it started working.
