Hi all,
I have a table with the following 4 columns:
Product - Price - Qty - Sell Date
I currently have a Stacked Area Chart that shows me the value of sales for each product by year.
I'm relying on the in-built 'grouping' (not sure if that's the right term) to consolidate the date and value information in to annual figures.
I would now like a bar chart that simply shows me total annual sales against target.
I don't currently have a field for the 'annual target' so i would need to create this... but what's the best way to add this in? Should i be creating a new table with 'Year' and 'Target' columns ? If i do this, how do i get the 'Year' to mate up with the 'Sell Date' from my original table?

hi, @barryjarvis
what is 'annual target'? is it a fact table?
If this is what you want to look for?
Step1:
Add a year column for Sell Date
year = YEAR('Table'[Sell Date])
Step2:
add a new table with 'Year' and "target"
Step3:
Create a relationship between the data table and annual target table by year column.
Then you had got the 'Year' to mate up with the 'Sell Date' from my original table.

Couple other questions, are your target sales by Product or no? Can you show an example of what you would like to end up with?
