Hello 🙂
Sorry for the trivial question, but I didn't found a way to do this, and I have been trying for days now.
I have a simple line chart, with story points on the y axis and dates on the x axis; I would like to add a goal date, to see how many story points I would have left at a given date, like this
I have tried adding a fake table with the goal date and some random story points,
but it didn't ended well
What am I doing wrong?

Hi @DanCerf ,
Have you created relationship between your fake table and your fact table or date table?

Sorry for the late answer.
@Iceyyes, I did, and that could be the reason why I had so many bars in my chart...
Anyway, since that was an urgent thing to fix, and since I had permissions on the database, I worked directly on the data to have the same thing you are suggesting and that worked 🙂
So, in conclusion, the proposed solution is correct, but I didn't managed to make it work, definitely because I was doing something wrong.
Thank you all!
Thank you all for your answers 🙂
Sorry, but I don't understand how what you guys are suggesting is different from what I have tried: it looks like it is the same thing, but it is not working.
I am sure I am doing something wrong, but don't understand what...

Hi @DanCerf ,
have you tried this option?
https://prathy.com/2018/05/adding-a-vertical-line-or-marker-to-a-chart-in-power-bi/
1) So basically use the line&bar chart instead of a simple line chart.
2) Create a measure with your goal date.
3) Add the measure to column values.
It might need soem formatting but usually it's a quick win.
Hope it helps
