Adding Values above Columns in Matrix

Hey

Hoping you can help as i've spent all day trying to get this working. In order to compare Qtrs, i've created measures that compare Qtrs, and provide the Qtr value for each scenario (Prior Fct, Current Fct, Budget).

I want to show the Scenario before Qtr, but as they are now measures, i cant see a way to do this? Anyone got any ideas? Or is there a way to compare columns without creating a measure?

I cant add a measure for each Scenario & Qtr combo (as i'll also have a drill down for month, so will end up with 100's of columns)

Here's how it currently looks, would really appreciate any help you can give

Afraid i still need a matrix visual. I mean like in Pivot tables in excel, where you can move the value above the row headers if there are multiple values.

I found a solution to this in the end. In the Query editor, i pivoted out the scenarios, which allowed me to add a calculated field to compare the two, i then unpivoted the fields, along with the calculated fields and Voila 🙂

Thanks for the help anyway, new to this, but its a learning curve

I don't get what you mean putting those measures before Qtr? Do you mean put the measures to Rows filed of a matrix visual? If so, it is not possible. Maybe you can try to use a table visual instead.

Hi @Anonymous

I assume that you have a calendar table... Then why don't you ...

1.- Create a new column in your calendar table called "Prior Qtr" with the value of the prior quarter for each date.

2.- Create a measure that does the math adding or substracting values from the actual and the prioor quarter.

3.- Introduce that measure in your table/matrix
