Add a table to data model from External Tools

I want to add table from my custom External Tools.

As an experiment I was able to do it from Tabular Editor. However, Power BI shows me a warning that there are some changes and offer to apply or discard changes. Whatever I do it doesn't save the added table and wipes it up.

There are a number of prerequisites, and steps you need to follow to make the changes stick.

Creating Calculation Groups in Power BI Desktop - SQLBI

Once you use Tabular editor or other external tools to write to the XMLA endpoint you may not be able to modify these items from Power BI desktop any more.
