Hello,
Power BI noob here, with familiarity with relational databases.
I have a Table style report that lists the beginning balance and YTD activity for specific accounts. I want to add a column at the end that is the sum of the two dollar columns. I have figured out how to use Filtering to get the accounts and just the current year's activity in the report, but don't see how to calculate a sum.
Thank you in advance for your help!

Hi @Anonymous ,
Why don't you use quick measure to sum these two fields.?
and then include this new measure at the last of your table.
Or else you can use this calculated col:
Column=Calculate(sum(table[beginbal])+sum(table[YTD amt]))
hi, @Anonymous
Just create a measure as below:
Measure = [beginbal] + [YTD amt]
then drag it to table visual.
Result:

Thank you, tejaswidmello. I learned something new today. Since I didn't know what I was doing, the measure got placed in a totally unrelated table, and I don't seem to be able to drag it to where I want it. Is that possible, or do I need to re-create it?
Mike
Hi @Anonymous ,
if there is no relationship between the tables then it will throw an error. Good to have the measure in your own table.
