Ability to lock visualisations

Hey guys,

I don't think this functionality is here (yet), but maybe I've looked past it.

I'd like to lock my visualisations so that they cannot be moved/resized;

multiple non-technical users use my dashboard, so I've heard quite some comments from their side that it's really annoying that they continuously keep moving/resizing the graphs on accident.

Any way to lock this?

Thanks,

~ Niels

Hi Niels,

My understanding is that this issue is because your users are using Power BI desktop to access reports. Anyone with Power BI desktop can act like a developer and hence Power BI does not lock down your visualizations.

Power BI service solves this, as it is mainly meant for report sharing. So go ahead and publish your report on Power BI service and this will solve your problem.

Thanks!

Power BI Desktop or PowerBI.com?

@austinsense Sorry, forgot to mention. I'm using Power Bi Desktop; latest update.

As you mentioned, your users use dashboard, so these mistaken moving/resizing occur on Power BI services. However, it's no supported to lock tiles pinned onto dashboard. Please submit a feature request on Ideas: https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas
