So i set up an API connection using JSON with my org, user and source key. Refreshing on PowerBI desktop works fine. Credentials are OK. I then publish to PowerBI.com and go to set my refresh settings. I go to Dataset, Settings and then Data Source Credentials. It then says: Your data source can't be refreshed because the credentials are invalid. Please update your credentials and try again.
When i Click Edit Credentials i get options which dont seem to apply: Anonymous, Windows or Basic and i cant see where i can put any of the credientials i put in my JSON file when originally establishing the connection (source, org and user key). Whatever option i've tried all fails.
Please bear in mind im a newb so layman-style answers would be appreciated.
Help! (thanks)
Hi @aconway ,
How do you connect to the data in Power BI? If you used on-premises data source, you will need a gateway. If you used organization account as credential verification method, you need to use the same credential in service( Power BI.com ).
Check Do you need onprem gateway?
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/service-gateway-onprem
Thanks for reply - on the settings page it says i dont need a gateway for this type of connection.
Hi @aconway ,
can you share some screenshots?
