A new error in PBIDT wile Applying Query Changes

Oh brother. Another problem.

I've never seen this one before. FWIW, this occured while I performed  "Save As" from a working PBIX. I had to delete a few tables and modify some native SQL queries. I completed and tried to Apply Changes.

Hi @pawlowski6132 ,

We think this issue may related to the preview feature,  Could you please try the following steps to see if this error can be reproduced:

  1. Backup the origin pbix file
  2. Install the latest version of Power BI Desktop, (if you are using MS Store version, upgrade in MS Store)
  3. Turn off the Preview Feature "Store datasets using enhanced metadata formatin options.
  4. Restart Power BI Desktop and create a new blank pbix file
  5. Try to copy the queries from origin pbix file to the new file when save the query
  6. Then verify if this error occur in the new pbix file

We can also try to use the backup file which stored when you enable this preview feature:

To find this backup report file(will be removed after 30 days):

  1. Navigate to C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Power BI Desktop\TempSaves\Backup
  2. Find the copy of your report there, with a similar name and time stamp.
  3. Copy this file to wherever you would prefer to preserve it.
  4. Make sure the "Enhanced metadata format" preview feature is disabled in Power BI Desktop

This backup is taken when the report is upgraded, so any changes that were made after the upgrade will not be included.
