Hello Community
I wanted to get any ideas for the two problems which I am having,
Problem 1 - I have a report which was previously having normal calander but now the customer wants me to implement 4-4-5 calander visual as well. The report is connected with direct query.
Now I solution which is in my mind is.
We also need to understand that the report is a generic solution and works as a template for clients, some clients just want normal calander solution and some wants 4-4-5, so when thinking about this I feel the option 2 is ideal, let me know what you think and what could be best for me.
The 4-4-5 table uses parameter to be passed for start year and end year, so when we need to change this we have to go the semantic model setting in the service and change.
Problem 2- How can we add the value for the parameters in the power bi report itself without going to the semantic model setting and changing them, as the parameters are then picked up by the powerquery to develop the 4-4-5 table.
Solved! Go to Solution.
For your first problem you could use a field parameter. Add the appropriate columns to the field parameter and use the field parameter in your visuals, then a slicer will allow the user to pick which they want to see.
For your second problem, you can't do it in Power BI desktop. Calculated tables are only calculated during data refresh, they don't take into account any filters or slicers you may put in the report.
