12 month average not rolling average

Hi all, I want to get the average from a year (Jan to Dec) a 12 month period for set years 2021, 2022 etc. All i can find is rolling averages. Any help gratefully received. Im sure this is a simple request but cant figure it out!

@mitchec , You can have measure like, , assume you have date and date table

YTD Sales = CALCULATE(AvergaeX(Values('Date'[Month Year]), CALCULATE(SUM(Sales[Sales Amount]))),DATESYTD('Date'[Date],"12/31"))
