I'm attempting to set up a connection to our on prem sybase database. I've added an odbc connection on the server that is hosting the On-premises data gateway to the sybase database. This is the current error I am getting.
Gateway: An error happened while reading data from the provider: 'The type initializer for 'Sap.Data.SQLAnywhere.SAConnection' threw an exception.'
The gateway software was updated 2 days ago and is up to date. Is setting up an ODBC connection to my sybase database the correct path to take, or should I be using connectors on the connectors tab on the On-premises data gateway?
Any help is appreciated.
Neil

Hi,
I faced a problem with an outdated gateway a few days ago. Update the software was not enough, I had to drop the gateway configuration on Power BI portal and create again.
I'm not sure if this was an specific issue I had or if it should be a general rule.
Kind Regards,
Dennes
Thanks Dennes
I restarted the gateway service and this has resolved my issue.
