Hello everyone,
I have just lost more than an hour over something I find strange.
I have inserted values in a warehouse table and when I Select on the table I see truncated information (only the first 20 characters).
I'm trying to find where an implicit truncation would be performed but I can't find anything. I then export the data to Excel and there I see all the data without truncation...
Result: the result table only displays the first 20 characters of each field (in the web viewer) without suggesting that it only displays the first characters but that there are other characters behind them.
I'm very surprised by this...
Do you have the same problem?
Thank in advance for your feedback,
Have a nice day,
Vivien

Hello,
Still no improvement on this issue?
For my part, I still have the same problem when there are many columns and the text is longer than what the display allows.
Have a nice day,
Vivien
What happens if you run a Select statement and only select that column? This way, that column gets more available space on the screen. Will it show the entire content then?
Also, what happens if you grab the divider and expand the column, as mentioned by @lbendlin
Anyway, I am surprised that the tooltip doesn't show the entire contents. I haven't tested it myself. But I wish that the tooltip show the entire contents, that would be the intuitive behaviour I think.
Hello,
Thank you for your feedback.
If I only display one column, everything is displayed correctly.
However, if I put in all the columns even with the separator (as shown below), I still have the same problem.
I find it really worrying.
Have a nice day,
Vivien
Hi @vivien57
Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. I can reproduce this at my end. I will report this internally and keep you updated on any progress.
In fact, the data is stored correctly in the data warehouse and can be queried normally. However, in Fabric's SQL query editor, when the number of columns in the query is large, the queried data cannot be fully displayed and ellipses are displayed due to the column width. I think this is acceptable. But I agree that the pop-up tooltip should show the entire content or it should allow us to expand the column width, otherwise we can't get the correct complete information when querying through the query editor.
Best Regards,
Jing

Hi @vivien57
I wanted to follow up on the issue. Due to some reason, I would suggest that you open a support ticket to address this issue, which would have a prompter response. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Best Regards,
Jing
Try grabbing the divider between the column headers and pulling it to the right.
