I am trying to incrementally load data from on-prem SQL to a data warehouse following this 

I am getting a validation error as following. Do you know why?

Copying data from on-premises connection with staging storage in workspace is not supported. Please use external staging storage instead.

The error message indicates that copying data from a local connection using the workspace internal staging storage is not currently supported, and it is recommended to use an external staging storage.

To resolve this issue, you need to configure the data pipeline to use an external staging area instead of the internal workspace storage.

For example, use Azure Blob Storage or Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 for this process.

@Anonymous  I am not sure why staging from on-prem sql requires me to BYOBlob/BYOADLS2 (external and additional)?

@dbrowne  I guess this issue is similar to this and is there an ETA for Supporting OneLake as staging for on-premise to DW is on the roadmap
