The humble dot plot, popularized by professor William S. Cleveland in his masterpiece 1985 book: "The Elements of Graphing Data". Compared to the traditional bar chart, its axis scale does not need to start from zero because the encoding of the dots is position rather than length. And this could permit for greater clarity and accuracy when comparing the values it displays. Many thanks to Hicham Bou Habib for his emulation in Excel which served as inspiration.
