Sometimes I feel lost in this journey...
Doubts creep in and I wonder if I am getting things right.
But if there is one thing I am convinced about is that I am not where I use to be when I started with Power BI.
My goal since the start of this year is to make POWER BI MY BREAD and BUTTER. Not just learning how to throw in charts but to create that user experience feeling. A dashboard that creates value and actually get used.
I recently worked on an HR Report that outlines important details such as the retention rate, turn over rate and workforce in an organization.
Problem Statement: The client was concerned about the diversity in their hiring process. They also want to know the key metrics like Retention Rate, Turnover Rate and amount of work force currently working in the organization and the employees that left.
My Approach: I got on a call with the client to get a clear understanding of their business process and what their expectation was for the project. I did a good cleaning of the data and I asked question when i spot outliers. I moved on with the data modelling, and I ensured I achieved a star schema with each of dimension table connected using a one to many approach. I did some DAX calculations that helped me in getting my KPIs like the Retention rate, Turnover Rate, and current and past work force. I created the dashboard background in figma to achieve a perfect color blending that doesn't distract my audience from the KPIs and essential metrics.
