Unable to Create Blob Storage Event Triggers in MS Fabric Data pipeline

Hi Team,

We have a requirement where the data pipeline needs to run when a  new file arrives in a particular folder in Azure blob container. Unfortunately we are getting below error while creating the Trigger.

Task Name:

Link Azure blob storage system events to Fabric events Failed
Error:
Validation errors found for some nodes: ne1aeapdstgd,EventLinks Artifact ID: 46d32587-ff25-4686-b3be-afbffc4d5357
Action: createEventLink Type: AzureStorageEvents

Here is the brief of how it was tried to create.

1. Navigated to Pipeline where trigger needs to be added.

2. Click on Trigger(Preview) and selected on Source

2.1 Selected Storage account as :Connect to existing Azure Storage Blob account.

2.2 Then selected subscription and container name where trigger needs to monitor.

2.3 Selected the required Workspace Correctly.

3. In Configure Alert part: Event Types: BlobCreated is selected

and Then Review->Create Source

Below Screenshot is the output I received(tried multiple times in multiple ways)

Note:

  • My storage account (ne1aeapdstgdStorageV2 is properly configured.
  • User has EventGrid Contributor and EventGrid Event Subscription Contributor roles (even provided owner priviliges).
  • User has Storage Account Contributor Role over the Storage Account.
  • The EventGrid System Topic is automatically created for the storage account with Source Type Microsoft.Storage.StorageAccounts.
  • User has Admin Access over the Fabric Workspace.

We also tried to manually publish a event stream by adding source as Azure Blob Storage events but that also failed with error "Failed to publish changesValidation errors found for some nodes: AzureStorageEvents,ne1aeapdstgd".

Kindly provide some insights on how to get rid of above error and create the trigger(alert) as we have checked & tried with all the possible ways known.

I had a similar problem, it turned out in my case it was just an issue that this feature is not available in all regions, US West 2 or US West 3.
Once I created my stream under my Fabric in US West and US East I was able to use that without any problems.

How to troubleshoot if that is the problem?
Simple, try to create manually an event stream under your workspace, add the storage event and try to publish it.
In my case that is how I figured out that was the issue. The main problem is that the error messages that show are not clear, but only inside of the event stream after trying to publish showed it was a region problem.

Hi @Anonymous , Our issue mentions validation erros for Storage account and eventlinks whereas your attached thread mentions authorization issue. Also we have already tried with highest privileges(owner) assigned to the user but still getting this issue.

Hi @yashaswi_raj ,

The following thread addresses a similar issue to yours. I hope the solution provided there can help resolve your problem:

In my case, it seems to be an Authentication issue and i got it resolved by checking with my Admin Team.
