SAP CDC in Microsoft Fabric

Hi Folks,

We would like to extract data from our SAP-System with the Connector-Functionality of DataFactory:

Dataflows in SAP CDC pipeline - Microsoft Fabric Community

Change Data Capture

Is it possible to use this Feature in Fabric as well ?

I can't find this Type of Connectors in the DataFlow Gen2...

Kind regards,

Oliver

Hi @OneAndOli ,

We only support few SAP connectors in Fabric at this time.

Currently there is no SAP CDC connector available in MS Fabric.

SAP CDC connector is already on internal roadmap. We don't have a specific ETA to share at this moment.
But we can expect them in upcoming release of MS Fabric

Appreciate if you could share the feedback on our feedback channel. Which would be open for the user community to upvote & comment on. This allows our product teams to effectively prioritize your request against our existing feature backlog and gives insight into the potential impact of implementing the suggested feature.

Hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any further queries.

Are there any updates on this that the Microsoft Fabric team can please share around this?

We understand this capability was on the internal roadmap as of 1 year ago. Is it still there?

We do not see it on the public roadmap at https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/fabric/release-plan/data-factory

Is there an alternative tracking mechanism for this feature? Are there any dates, private preview or other news you can share to help customers prepare for the release?

We currently have to branch off to Synapse just to do SAP CDC and it's causing architectural complexities. Thank you.

Hi @Anonymous,

can you give any update on this topic, whether it is planed to integrate the SAP CDC to Fabrics Data Fabric?

I think this is a very important feature for any company using SAP as there ERP system.

Hello @paulv  , @Anonymous ,

  1. Microsoft recently co-published the recommended architecture for Fabric with SAP [including tables CDC ]

https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/azure-data-factory-blog/integrate-microsoft-fabric-with-sap-data-with-usb4sap-in-live/ba-p/4152300

  1. Specifically, for SAP tables CDC (with time-series), refer to this guide : https://youtu.be/GecQjLePgGs
  2. for SAP tables CDC (with document # series), refer to this guide: https://youtu.be/i5af-GzghHE

Please reach out if it needs any clarification, hope this helps.

Hello @OneAndOli & @Anonymous
our team also worked on a video guide for getting SAP objects into Fabric / PowerBI.
It has inbuilt support for for tables (with Change Data Capture) & modeled info (eg, reports, TCODE etc).

It enables SAP ->Onelake (ADLS)->Parquet->PowerBI

Hope community finds this useful.
