Data Pipeline: Extracting Data From DB2...Gateway does not support this

I am trying to use a Fabric Data Pipeline to extract data from a DB2 on premise database and load it into an on premise SQL Server database.  I have learned that Fabric Data Flow Gen2 does NOT support loading data into an on premise data store such as SQL Server, but that a Data Pipeline can do so.

While I can connect and extract data from a DB2 database using a Fabric Gen2 Dataflow (using our existing Gateway), the Data Pipeline interface says that the Gateway does NOT support this.  This is frustrating, given that a Gen2 Data Flow is able to extract data with our existing Gateway, whereas a Data Pipeline is unable to do so with the same Gateway.  I think consistency in Fabric is not an unreasonable expectation when it comes to matters such as this 😉.

Here is the "error" I receive when trying to connect to a DB2 database using a Data Pipeline in Fabric:

DB2 is not supported with the on-premises data gateway lower than 3000.214.2. Please upgrade to the latest version.

Is upgrading the Gateway to a more recent version (and I am presuming that is what the error message refers to) a simple task?  It is annoying that I have to do this in order to get this to function, especially when a Gen 2 Dataflow is able to use the existing Gateway.  Further, upgrading our Gateway without proper testing, etc. is a poor IT practice.

Hi @Brian-Peavey ,

According to the error message, the problem should be caused by the low version of the gateway. Please download the latest version of the on-premises and try again.
