Data Pipeline Error - Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'owner').

I created a data pipeline in Microsoft Fabric to load data from an on-premises SQL Server to a Lakehouse.

The pipeline includes:

  • A Lookup activity to retrieve data from the on-premises SQL Server.
  • A For Each activity to iterate over the output of the Lookup activity.
  • A Copy Data activity to transfer data from the on-premises SQL Server (source) to the Lakehouse (destination).

However, when I try to preview data from the Lakehouse (destination) in the data pipeline, I encounter the following error:

"Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'owner')."

please help me to resolve this issue?

Ensure your account has Workspace Admin or Contributor roles for the Lakehouse.

Delete and rebuild the Lakehouse connection in the pipeline using credentials from an active account.

Confirm the Copy Data activity successfully transferred data to the Lakehouse (check activity run logs).
• If no data exists, the preview will fail with misleading errors.

If the error persists, create a new Lakehouse and rerun the pipeline to populate it with fresh metadata.

If this is helpful please accept the answer

I also get this error now, as workspace admin. Interestingly the preview data doesn't work, but running the copy data activity does produce the file.

The account has a Workspace Member role for the Lakehouse.

I have already deleted and recreated a new Lakehouse connection using an active account with fresh metadata, but the issue still persists.

During the first run, the Copy Data activity successfully loads data into the Lakehouse. However, on the second run, it fails to detect existing tables in the Lakehouse, even though the tables are present.

Tried to create new multiple lakehouse and pipeline to test this situation. Getting same error across the workspace all lakehouse and pipelines.

Could you help me troubleshoot this issue?
