how to change the locale language in a (pyspark) notebook?

Hi,

how can we change the locale language in a notebook, the setlocale function is not working and raising a language unsupported error (no matter the language).

Thanks.

1 ACCEPTED SOLUTION

the point is to use localized texts in a notebook.

to format date and currencies (etc) in a specific language.

for example, I want to create a calendar table with english and french columns; so the month name will be in english and another column in french.

I can do it using dataflows, but I also test notebooks and see what I can do with them.

it's a limitation without an impact for me for now, but this should be supported by fabric

Hi @Jerome22
Thanks for using Fabric Community.
Currently using locale.setlocale() to change the language of notebook is not supported. But you can change the language for Power BI totally.

Hi @Jerome22
Currently only three locale settings are supported in Fabric Notebooks:
C
POSIX
en_US.UTF-8
