SAP All-in-One Data Integration into Microsoft Fabric OneLake

I am still confused of what are the best and neatest way to do it. I read that it can be done several ways:

a) via SAP Datasphere

b) via Open Mirroring

c) via Partners software (TheobaldSoftware, Dab, etc)

Definitely I would not go for Partners software because of the huge cost, but I am wondering if we can do it ourself since SAP itself is very complex.

Would appreciate some good suggestions.

You can perform all ETL, DWH and Data Lakehouse through Microsoft Fabric Dataflow Gen 2 and SAP . This is the Power Query Documentation.(Power Query documentation - Power Query | Microsoft Learn) It connects SAP HANA Database, SAP BW Application Server and SAP BW Message Server. Microsoft is adding more Get Data for ETL and DWH or Data Lakehouse.

  • Fabric recommends using SAP-certified third-party solutions like DAB Nexus, Simplement, and Golden Gate, which support open mirroring.
  • SAP has restricted using ODP framework  but the above given thrid party solutions not using ODP framework.
  • SAP Datasphere, with OneLake shortcuts, can also be used for data integration within Fabric.
  • Fabric supports on-premises data gateway to support various SAP applications. https://blog.fabric.microsoft.com/en-US/blog/integrate-your-sap-data-into-microsoft-fabric-2/

thanks for your reply. So can I say if we use SAP Datasphere, most or all the SAP data & tables can be extracted to Fabric? how is the effort for this kind of work? is there some write-up or documentations for this kind of tasks?

Also for the Golden Gate, it is more for the Oracle product, and not SAP, isn't it?

Yes using SAP datasphere you can integrate all SAP application like ECC ,S4HANA etc. Golden gate not only support oracle, it supports SAP application as well

so can I say we can do it ourselves without the third-party partners, with Datasphere?

Use SAP "datasphere" to replicate to ADLS gen2 in near real time and shortcut from ADLS gen2 to Fabric.
