Push data to fabric warehouse or onelake via api

Hello,

I'm new by using Microsoft Fabric and i want to do a use case.

On a local server I wand to upload data files (csv, parquet) on Fabric plateform by using a fabric API (onelake api or others).

Someone already did that? If yes how i can achieve this tasks.

Thanx in advance for your help.

Hello @jdechaud,
Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Fabric Community.

You can use the OneLake REST API to upload CSV or Parquet files from your local server to OneLake, which can then be used in a Fabric Warehouse or Lakehouse. Below are the steps and resources to help you:

  • Set up authentication using Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Use the OneLake API to upload files to your Lakehouse’s Files section.
  • Load files into Delta tables for Warehouse or Lakehouse use via the Lakehouse Management API or Open Mirroring for continuous updates.

Hello @jdechaud,
Thanks for your follow-up.

Yes, AzCopy can be used to upload files like CSV or Parquet to OneLake in Microsoft Fabric, but it does require Microsoft Entra ID authentication for secure access. You’ll need to set up an Entra ID application with appropriate permissions to authenticate AzCopy. Alternatively, you can explore the OneLake Access API or Open Mirroring for automated uploads.
